It’s that time of the year again – the 2014 edition of Calderdale Council’s Events and Festivals guide is out right now!
More events than ever will be taking place around Calderdale from April to September, including the Todmorden Carnival and the Hebden Bridge Easter Duck Race in April and May, the Brighouse 1940’s Weekend in June and the Halifax Agricultural Show in August.
Alongside our traditional yearly events, we are excited to welcome the Tour De France 2014 to Calderdale, bringing with it a number of exciting cycling themed events. Calderdale is also the lead authority for the Yorkshire Festival 2014 – 100 days of cultural projects all across Yorkshire. Keep your eyes out for the Grand Departs, the Fantastical Cycle Parade and Bicycle with Barefoot, which are all taking place in Calderdale.
With such a packed programme over the next six months, you’ll be sure to find fun and entertaining events to keep all your family and friends busy, in what will be such a special year not just for Calderdale but for all of Yorkshire.
Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities, Cllr Steve Sweeney, said:
“The guide is really useful for planning your activities during the Spring and Summer months. We are lucky that Calderdale has so many events and festivals on offer, and having them together in one guide is really helpful for both residents and visitors.
“This year the booklet is extra special, as alongside our great annual events, we can look forward to 100 days of art and culture a part of the Yorkshire Festival 2014, before the Tour de France cycles its way through our region.”
