Closure of Cow Green Car Park, Halifax

Cow Green multi-storey car park in Halifax town centre is to be closed from 6.00pm today (Friday 11 January 2013).

The concrete car park was built in the early 1970s and is at the end of its useful life. Structural inspections and investigations have shown that the car park is in a very poor condition and the Council has taken the decision to close it on safety grounds.

The car park provides 226 public spaces and 310 spaces leased to Lloyds Banking Group. Car parking will be provided for Lloyds at Mulcture Hall Road and High Street car parks from Monday 14 January 2013. Mulcture Hall Road car park will be closed to members of the public and there will only be a limited number of public spaces available in the High Street car park.
