Events and Festivals

It’s that time of the year again – the 2015 edition of Calderdale Council’s Events and Festivals guide is out right now!

The guide is crammed with over 35 entries of events taking place around Calderdale, with listings from April to September. Some of the events featured include the Todmorden Carnival and the Hebden Bridge Easter Duck Race in April and May, the Brighouse 1940’s Weekend in June and the Halifax Agricultural Show in August.

Alongside our traditional yearly events, we are excited to welcome the inaugural Tour de Yorkshire to Calderdale on Sunday 3 May. This fantastic new race will see some of cycling’s biggest stars riding through the borough, and it’s accompanied by some great events such as the Town Hall beer and cider festival in Hebden Bridge and Well dressing and Spaw Sunday in Midgley.

There really is something for everyone, and this handy guide will help you plans your visit to ensure you don’t miss anything.

Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities, Cllr Marcus Thompson, said:

“The brilliant Events and Festivals guide is packed full of brilliant summer activities all around Calderdale.

“This year the range of events is amazing – from the traditional to the unusual. You can collect your guide from various venues across Calderdale, including tourist information centres, libraries and museums.  You can also find more information about events all year round, online at www.visitcalderdale.com(external link)
