A New Door Opens for Learning

Calderdale Adult Learning service is opening a new room on Union Street where members of the public can walk in and gain information, advice and guidance about adult learning courses in Calderdale. The Council, along with other organisations such as CK Careers and Workwise, hope that the new room will provide a visible presence for members of the public to find out more about learning opportunities available across Calderdale.

Calderdale Adult Learning constantly looks at ways to improve its services to the people of Calderdale. Getting people involved with learning is important socially as well as economically and meeting learner needs is a top priority. In addition to the regular learning guide that has just been issued, the information room is hoped to encourage more people to look into the different options available to expand knowledge and skills. Whether you’re interested in improving your numeracy and literacy skills, taking up a new hobby such as arts and crafts or improving your interview technique, we’ve something for everyone!

Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People’s Services, Cllr Megan Swift, said:

“Over the past few months, Calderdale Adult Learning has been working with key partners such as CK Careers and Workwise to promote their work and services offered. This new facility will act as a one stop shop for the people of Calderdale to see what opportunities are out there and how we can help encourage further learning.”

The information room will be open initially at pre-arranged times for adults to come and see what fantastic courses, advice and information we offer. You can find out when the new room is open by visiting the Calderdale Adult Learning web page of the Council’s website or by calling 01422 392820. Our general office is open Monday to Thursday from 9.00am until 4.00pm and on Fridays from 9.00am until 1.00pm.
