The Shibden Estate is going Totally Locally for its food and craft market this weekend.
On Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 June Shibden is hosting the free event, which not only provides visitors with a great local produce market, but also an opportunity to look in on the Medieval Hall, 17th Century Barn and beautiful gardens of the Shibden Estate, without paying the usual admission price.
This delicious weekend event offers the chance to sample and purchase tasty treats such as chutneys, cheeses, cakes and jams, as well as crafts and gifts. All the produce on sale has been made locally, supporting local businesses, growers and producers.
The ideal setting of the Shibden Estate, just a mile from Halifax town centre, provides a spectacular backdrop for the food and craft market, with the 600-year-old medieval timber-framed manor house set in 37 hectares of the Shibden valley.
The event is running all weekend from 10am until 4pm with free admission to both the market and the Shibden Estate.
Calderdale Council’s Shibden Hall and Estate Manager, Deborah Comyn-Platt, said:
“The Shibden Estate is a great place to visit, and the Totally Locally food and craft market gives people chance to explore the grounds and museum, whilst also sampling the produce and supporting local traders.”
Events run all year at Shibden, with a packed summer of activities planned. If the Totally Locally food and craft market whets your appetite, there is now the chance to visit the Shibden Hall museum all year round with an annual pass.
The unbelievable value pass enables visitors to visit the Hall as much as they want in 12 months for just £5 for adults, £4 for concessions and £14 for a family ticket.
