GCSE results day in Calderdale

Cllr Adam Wilkinson outside Halifax Town Hall

On GCSE results day, Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People’s Services, Cllr Adam Wilkinson, said:

“Congratulations to everyone receiving their GCSE results today. It’s a nerve-wracking time, but I hope that our young people are able to celebrate this milestone moment and are looking forward to their next steps, whether that’s further studies or beginning vocational courses.

“For those who maybe didn’t get the results they were wanting, it’s important to remember not to panic; there are many options for this next stage in life, even if things haven’t gone to plan.

“Your school can offer you support and advice, or there’s lots of information online, at https://ck.mydirections.co.uk/events/gcse-results-day-21-august-2025(external link) We understand it can also be an overwhelming time and there’s also lots of mental health and wellbeing support available, at https://www.openmindscalderdale.org.uk/exam-help-calderdale/(external link). “Whatever the results, students should be very proud of the effort that has gone into their studies and I wish them all the very best in their future plans.”
