Grants for cost of living support

Calderdale Council

Funding is now available for community and voluntary groups in Calderdale providing advice and practical help for residents facing pressures with the cost of living.

In partnership with the Community Foundation for Calderdale, the Council has launched the latest round of the Calderdale Resilience Fund.

Local groups can apply for funding of up to £7000 to support initiatives to prevent residents falling into poverty or to help build financial resilience. It can also be used to support those needing urgent help after reaching a crisis point.

Eligible groups can find out more at www.cffc.co.uk/calderdale-resilience-fund(external link). Applications can be submitted online, with a deadline of 10am on Thursday 4 June 2026.

Funding is provided from the Government’s Crisis Resilience Fund, with the application process managed by the Community Foundation for Calderdale, on behalf of Calderdale Council.

Cllr Peter Hunt, Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Services, said:

“Cost of living pressures continue to impact many people across the country, and we want to support local initiatives that help Calderdale residents who may be struggling with their finances to access trusted guidance.

“Local voluntary and community groups in the borough can apply for grant funding to help them set up or scale up efforts to provide practical help and advice to residents. This community-based support can help people to navigate difficult financial situations or help them build resilience to prepare and recover from any future money-related setbacks.”

Steve Duncan, CEO of Community Foundation for Calderdale (CFFC), added:

“We’re proud to be working in partnership with Calderdale Council to deliver the Resilience Fund and ensure that this vital support reaches those who need it most.

“This funding will enable grassroots organisations to respond quickly to crisis situations and help prevent families and individuals from falling into deeper difficulty. Together, we’re strengthening our community.”
