Calder Valley Skip Hire has submitted a new application to Calderdale Council for an Environmental Permit, to run a small waste incinerator plant at Belmont Industrial Estate in Sowerby Bridge.
Local people can have their say on this application during a 35-day public consultation period, which ends at 5pm on Monday 1 April 2024.
Cllr Jenny Lynn, Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Services and Communities, said:
“We invite local people to share their views on the new Environmental Permit request from Calder Valley Skip Hire.
“The Council will consider the application at the end of the consultation period, taking all comments on board, with the support of an external specialist for an independent view.”
If people want to make a representation for or against Calder Valley Skip Hire operating an incinerator plant on the Belmont site, they can email community-safety@calderdale.gov.uk or post their response to Calderdale Council, Environmental Health, Town Hall, Crossley Street, Halifax, HX1 1UJ, by 5pm on Monday 1 April 2024.
