Overnight road closures are scheduled on Portland Place, Commercial Street, Wards End, Fountain Street and Bull Green roundabout in Halifax, to allow essential maintenance to take place.
Calderdale Council is carrying out work on these streets from Sunday 6 November to Thursday 17 November involving the planing and resurfacing of the carriageway surface.
To ensure the safety of road users and the workforce, it will be necessary to close roads to traffic from 9.30pm to 5.30am, for the duration of the works.
Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times. Through traffic will be diverted via Huddersfield Road, Skircoat Moor Road, Burdock Way and Orange Street roundabout.
Calderdale Council’s Head of Highways, Steven Lee, said:
“We know this busy town centre route is well used, so we’re scheduling our essential maintenance at a time where the traffic is quieter to limit disruption.
“This important work will improve the surface of the road to ensure it is fit for the amount of vehicles travelling this route every day.”
