Overnight closures are scheduled for the A58 Aachen Way in Halifax and the A646 Market Street in Hebden Bridge, to allow for essential maintenance.
Calderdale Council is to carry out work on the A58 between King Cross Road and Queen’s Road, King Cross. The work is due to start on Monday 2 July and involves the planing and resurfacing of the carriageway surface. The work is due to be complete by Friday 13 July.
To ensure the safety of road users and the workforce, it will be necessary to close the road to traffic from 10pm to 5.30am, Monday to Friday nights for the duration of the works.
Through traffic will be diverted via Orange Street roundabout, Skircoat Road and Free School Lane.
An overnight closure is also scheduled for A646 Market Street in Hebden Bridge on the night of Wednesday 4 July. This will also involve work to improve the carriageway surface. The closure will be in place from 10.30pm until 5.30am.
Through traffic will be diverted via Todmorden, Littleborough, Cragg Vale and Mytholmroyd.
Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during both closures.
Calderdale Council’s Assistant Director – Strategic Infrastructure, Steven Lee, said:
“Both these closures are to allow for important improvement works to be carried out to our road network.
“These are both busy routes, so we’re carrying out this work overnight to limit disruption as much as possible.”
