Visitors to Calderdale this spring and summer can now start to plan their trip, with the release of the annual Calderdale Events and Festivals guide.
The colourful guide is crammed with over 30 entries of indoor and outdoor events taking place right across Calderdale, between April and September.
There’s a mix of old and new events, with annual attractions such as the Todmorden Folk Festival, Hebden Bridge Handmade Parade, Brighouse 1940s weekend and the Halifax Agricultural Show returning; and new additions like Armed Forces Day celebrations and the Elland Vintage Festival making a welcome appearance.
This year’s guide also sees the return of the Tour de Yorkshire to Calderdale, as the borough welcomes the third stage of the 2017 race on Sunday 30 April. This time the race travels through Halifax and Brighouse on a course of challenging terrain.
This is just a selection of the great events taking place in Calderdale this year. Along with listings, the Events and Festivals guide features a handy map, showing the location of events with local transport links.
Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods and Communities, Cllr Susan Press, said:
“Supporting our local events and festivals is really important – they bring a significant boost to tourism and the local economy.
“The annual events and festivals guide is a really useful way to find out about the fabulous array of exciting events going on in Calderdale this spring and summer season.
“The guide is great for visitors, but it’s also really handy for residents to find out what’s going on, right on your doorstep.”
Calderdale Events and Festivals guide is available in Calderdale libraries, visitor centres and museums. Also keep an eye out for it in visitor attractions across West Yorkshire.
