Plan your perfect day at the Shibden Wedding Fair

Shibden Hall

Couples looking for the perfect venue for their wedding, civil partnership or renewal of vows, have the chance to explore the fantastic setting of Shibden Hall and the Mereside Visitor Centre, as the Hall opens its doors for the Shibden Wedding Fair.

Shibden Hall in Halifax, is now licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies, and in partnership with Mereside Visitor Centre, visitors are welcome to the Wedding Fair on Sunday 9 March from 11.30am to 3.30pm.

The magnificent, Grade II* Listed, 15th Century medieval timber-framed manor house, is set in 37 hectares of the Shibden valley, and is one of England’s oldest buildings. The event will offer couples an opportunity to view this spectacular venue and meet local wedding suppliers, including florists, wedding cake suppliers, stationers, photographers and caterers.

The Mereside Visitor Centre located at the bottom of Shibden Park, will also be showcasing its attractive facilities for wedding functions, as well as hosting a number of stalls for local wedding suppliers.

Shibden Estate’s land train will be in operation on the day for the duration of the wedding fair to transport visitors between venues.

Representatives from Calderdale Council’s Registrars Service will be available to provide a range of information to prospective couples, and Museums Staff will be on hand to show visitors around and assist with any enquiries about Shibden Hall as a wedding venue.

Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities, Cllr Steve Sweeney, said:

“The wedding fair is a great opportunity for visitors to admire the magnificent, Shibden Hall Estate and for couples to meet useful contacts to plan their special day.

“The Hall is also now licensed to host weddings, and can provide the perfect romantic setting for a wedding, civil partnership or renewal of vows.”

The fair takes place on Sunday 9 March, from 11.30am – 3.30pm. Admission is £2.50 for adults, £2 concessions and free to Shibden Annual Pass holders.
