Calderdale residents are invited to share their views on life in the borough to help shape ambitions for the future.

There’s still time to take part in the Vision 34 survey, which includes multiple-choice questions about how residents perceive Calderdale, the opportunities they feel are available, and their level of involvement in cultural events both within and beyond the borough.

The Vision 34 for Calderdale, which launched earlier this year, is an inspiring, long-term ambition for the whole borough that all residents and organisations can jointly work towards, to help make life better for everyone.

The Vision 34 key themes are enterprising, opportunity, kind, welcoming, hope, heritage, nature and creativity. Through these themes, organisations and people from all walks of life are encouraged to share their positive stories about life in Calderdale.

Progress will be measured through comparisons with other areas and over time. The annual residents’ survey aims to establish how people living in Calderdale feel about life in the borough to help support work over the next 10 years towards Vision 34.

The survey is available at https://engage.calderdale.gov.uk/en-GB/projects/calderdale-vision-34-annual-residents-survey(external link) Paper surveys are also available at Calderdale libraries, or can be accessed online and posted, or returned to libraries.

The survey is short and easy, taking around 5-10 minutes to complete. Everyone taking part also has the opportunity to be entered into a draw to win prizes including theatre tickets, gym membership, or tickets to Shibden Hall.

The closing date for responses is Sunday 14 December 2025.

The Leader of Calderdale Council, Cllr Jane Scullion, said:

“We launched our Vision 34 earlier this year, setting out our ambitions for the next 10 years and bringing us together with a direction, shared values, stories and a sense of belonging.

“This Vision belongs to everyone; its development was shaped by over 1000 people and we want to continue to listen to people to help inform how we achieve our Vision together.

“The annual Vision survey is a chance to share feedback on life in Calderdale and celebrate what makes our borough so special. It helps to guide our goals and actions to build a better Calderdale together.”
