Development work at Old Gate in Hebden Bridge is due to continue until the end of April 2015.
Road closures have been in place since the work started, and will continue until it is completed. However, the closures will be limited to one or two mornings per week when required, and will not be in place over the festive period. Parking will be available at all times.
The previous road closures associated with this work were in place from 8am to 4.30pm on weekdays. The new arrangements will come into place on Monday 5 January 2015.
Calderdale Council’s Head of Planning and Highways, Geoff Willerton, said:
“As the road is narrow and large vehicles are regularly accessing the construction site, the closure is essential to ensure the work can take place safely. We want the private developer to be able to continue their work, but we also want to keep disruption to a minimum. Council officers will keep visiting the site to check progress and are working with the developer to encourage completion as quickly as possible.”
The alternative route for drivers is West End, Bridge Gate, then St George’s Street.
Once the work is completed there will be new apartments and business units at Old Gate.
