Closure of Lee Wood Road in Heptonstall

Lee Wood Road in Heptonstall is expected to be closed for three to four weeks whilst repairs are carried out following an incident last Thursday (10 January 2013).

Whilst resurfacing works were taking place on Lee Wood Road, the edge of the road and a wall collapsed, causing a truck that was working on the resurfacing to tip over into the adjacent field.

Nobody was injured and the truck was recovered. Repairs to the road and wall started on Friday 11 January and are expected to take three to four weeks. The road will reopen when the repairs and resurfacing works have been completed.

Cars are being diverted through Heptonstall. HGVs are being diverted via Todmorden, Cliviger and Blackshaw Head. Diversion and information signs are in place and traffic management staff are directing vehicles.
