Commenting on Calderdale Council’s enforcement review, Cllr Susan Press, Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhood Services, said:
“We’re taking a new, more efficient, firm but fair approach to enforcement. We committed to doing this in the Council’s 2018 budget, and local people tell us how important it is to tackle issues like fly-tipping, anti-social behaviour, planning breaches and dangerous housing conditions.
“Our new approach, based on partnership working and early intervention, will ensure that issues are quickly passed to the right people, to stop issues escalating in severity and cost.
“We won’t hesitate to take enforcement action, challenge repeat offending and use our full range of powers as appropriate.”
