Removal of pay and display and evening charges

Pay and display charges at ten Calderdale car parks have been removed as of Monday 8 September 2014. This is following the decision made by Cabinet on 18 August 2014. The car parks affected are: 

  • ·         Bank Street, Mill Lane and Church Lane, Brighouse
  • ·         Brig Royd, West Vale
  • ·         Royd Lane, Ripponden
  • ·         Haugh Shaw and Queens Road, King Cross 
  • ·         Dale Street, Oxford Street, and Dalton Street, Todmorden 

All car parks will remain long stay parking, apart from Mill Lane car park in Brighouse which will be changed to 4 hours maximum stay. All other terms and conditions of the car parks will remain the same. In addition, there will be no evening parking charges in Halifax after 6.00pm as of Monday 8 September 2014.  

Calderdale Council’s Leader, Cllr Stephen Baines said:

 “From Monday 8 September 2014, drivers should be aware that the pay and display charges for ten car parks in Calderdale have been removed. This means there will be no charges to park in selected car parks in Brighouse, West Vale, Ripponden, King Cross and Todmorden. Evening parking charges in Halifax Town Centre from 6.00pm have also been removed as of Monday 8 September 2014.”
