Calderdale Council’s next Cabinet meeting will include updates on the main issues which matter to people who live and work in the borough.
The meeting will provide the Cabinet with the opportunity to inform the public, Elected Members and businesses of the latest developments on:
- Improvements to the highways network
- Progress on the ownership of the Shay stadium
Cllr Dan Sutherland, Calderdale Council’s Leader, said:
“Transparency is central to the way we are working for the people of Calderdale and we feel strongly that they have a right to know how we are delivering for them.
“Cabinet meetings are where we make important decisions about Council services, but they also provide us with an opportunity to let the public know the latest information about the things that really matter to them.
“We’ll use the next Cabinet meeting as an opportunity to update residents and businesses about the key issues that we’re currently tackling.”
The Cabinet will also be asked to consider a report on the Schools Rebuilding programme, which could lead to the rebuilding of Shade Primary School and Walsden St Peter’s CE (VC) Primary School and the expansion of Woodbank Special Primary School.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the Cabinet meeting and ask a question during Question Time, however these should be submitted electronically to Democratic.Support@calderdale.gov.uk by no later than 5pm on Wednesday, 29th July 2026.
The meeting will take place from 4pm on Monday 3 August 2026 at Halifax Town Hall, live streamed online at https://calderdale.public-i.tv/core/portal/home(external link) and also recorded for viewing after the meeting has concluded.
