On GCSE results day 2019, Cllr Adam Wilkinson, Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People’s Services, said:
“Well done to everyone receiving their GCSE results. They have worked very hard and should be proud of their achievements. Thank you to all the teachers, staff and families for their continued support to help Calderdale’s talented young people achieve their best.
“As well as a time for celebration, we know that the end of exams can be daunting. You don’t have to go through it alone – there are lots of ways to get advice and support if you’re not sure about your next steps. Talk to your school, call in to the C&K Careers(external link) centre in Halifax or visit one of the many websites providing information for young people, such as Open Minds in Calderdale(external link) and GOV.UK(external link).
“Our popular annual Get Organised event will be running again in October, giving Year 11 students and their families the chance to find out more about their options after GCSEs. Keep an eye out for more information about the event.”
