Find your future at Calderdale Adult Learning open day

Calderdale Adult Learning (CAL) is hosting a free drop-in event on Saturday 1 September, for people to find out more about the wide range of activities and courses on offer.

The CAL open day runs from 10am to 1pm at the Heath Campus in Halifax, and people are welcome to drop-in at any time throughout this period.

There are lots of different free activities to try out on the day, including sewing, arts and crafts and language taster sessions. There’s also the chance to get involved with an Italian cookery demonstration.

In addition to this, there will be free activities for children such as face painting and balloon modelling, as well as tasty treats to try, made by CAL’s cookery instructor.

CAL offer a wide range of learning activities and courses. As well as the chance to learn new skills, there’s also the opportunity to gain important qualifications in subjects like English and maths, and improve vital digital skills.

There’s also a wide variety of classes for adults with learning difficulties, and as well as a varied programme of evening classes, CAL also offer classes during the day, so you can fit your learning around your lifestyle.

Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People’s Services, Cllr Megan Swift, said:

“Calderdale Adult Learning’s open day is a great way to find out more about the options available to learn new skills or improve your career prospects.

“There really is something for everyone, whether you’re looking to gain qualifications, improve digital skills, learn a new language or brush up on skills like cookery, arts and crafts or beauty treatments.

“There’s no obligation, so why not come along to the open day and see for yourself what’s on offer?”

Courses are tailored to your needs and CAL work with a range of specialist groups and organisations to ensure the courses offer support and guidance at every level.

The new CAL brochure is out now and can be found at www.calderdale.gov.uk/adultlearning. New courses will continue to be added throughout the year, so keep checking the website for all the latest additions.
