It’s official; Todmorden Children’s Centre Nursery is ‘Outstanding’!
Todmorden Children’s Centre Nursery is celebrating after receiving an ‘Outstanding’ rating in all areas following an inspection by Ofsted on the Thursday 15 August.
The inspection looked into three key areas of nursery life, which includes; how children’s needs are met, the contribution of the nursery to children’s well-being, and the effectiveness of the leadership and management. All aspects of the nursery were highly praised and graded ‘Outstanding’.
The inspector made numerous positive comments in the glowing report and recognised that “children make excellent progress in their learning” and that “educational programmes have depth, breadth and are matched to children’s ages, stages and needs.” Staff were commended on their “excellent knowledge of safeguarding procedures” and for the “exceptional standard of care they provide in the nursery.”
The inspector also stated “The nursery provides outstanding outdoor play experiences, such as ‘woodland school’ sessions, which give children opportunities to take reasonable risk in their play, with careful supervision.”
Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People’s Services, Cllr Megan Swift, said:
“It’s fantastic news that Todmorden Children’s Centre has received an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating.
“The hard work of the staff has really paid off, and the result reflects the continuous improvement taking place in children’s centres and schools across Calderdale”
Julie Ratcliffe, Children’s Centre Manager said:
“We are all delighted to receive an ‘Outstanding’ grade for our nursery provision, this is a huge achievement, and is a credit to all our children, parents, staff and partners. Now we will have to work hard to maintain this excellent result!”
