On Sunday 6 July 2014 the eyes of the world will be on Calderdale when the second stage of the Tour de France races through the district.  Millions will be watching on TV and hundreds of thousands will watch the race live.

There will be tens of thousands of extra people in Calderdale on the race weekend, and this is an excellent opportunity for local businesses to reach new customers and partners.

To help make the most of this once in a lifetime event, Calderdale Council has arranged three business meetings to present the latest information, and give you some help in finalising your plans.

The meetings will take place on:

·         Tuesday 3 June at the Shay Stadium in Halifax, at 6.00pm.
·         Thursday 5 June at Berties in Elland, at 8.00 am, and
·         Friday 6 June at Hebden Bridge Town Hall, at 8.30am.

Each meeting is free to attend, and will last approximately one hour.  Experts will be on hand to answer any questions and to talk to businesses, and there will also be members of the Council’s business support team there to help and support you.

Calderdale Council’s Leader, Cllr Tim Swift, said:

“These events can help clear up any concerns, give you ideas on how to make the most of the race weekend, and answer any questions you may have.

“There are lots of opportunities for local businesses to take advantage of the Tour coming to the region. There’s plenty of useful information on visitcalderdale.com, but these sessions will provide the opportunity to meet the business experts face to face.”

Any business can attend any of the meetings, but to confirm your attendance, please email christopher.whitaker@calderdale.gov.ukstating which event you would like to attend.
