Helping students Get Organised

Cllr Megan Swift

Students in Year 11 and their families are invited to Calderdale Council’s Get Organised event, to find out more about the options they have after finishing GCSEs in 2018.

On Monday 16 October young people and their families are encouraged to drop in to the MBi Shay Stadium in Halifax between 3.30pm and 7.30pm for the chance to speak with colleges, sixth forms, universities and work-based training providers from across the region. There’s no need to book a place, but please be aware it can be busy between 5pm and 6.30pm.

There’ll be lots of information and advice available, including talks from C&K Careers, university, college and apprenticeship providers which will be repeated throughout the evening. You will also receive your own C&K Careers ‘Get Organised’ guide, packed full of up to date information on local post 16 options.

Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People’s Services, Cllr Megan Swift, said:

“The Get Organised event is really popular and it’s easy to see why so many young people attend. It’s a great way to find out more about the options after GCSEs, with so many useful contacts under one roof.

“There are many post-16 options available, so it’s important that young people make an informed decision on their future and the Get Organised event can help them find the path that’s right for them.”
