Tell us where you’re watching

Tour de France

It’s now less than 6 months until the Tour de France cycles through Calderdale, and it’s estimated that the race will bring around 160,000 spectators to Calderdale alone!

With so many people eager to catch a glimpse of the cyclists, it’s important that Welcome to Yorkshire and Calderdale Council can manage demand on the day. To help with this, Welcome to Yorkshire has produced a survey, asking people to state where they will be watching the race.

The data collected from the survey will be used to give an idea of which areas in Yorkshire are likely to have the most spectators, helping with traffic control and crowd management.

To encourage you to complete the survey, there’s also the extra incentive of the chance to win two tickets to the Team Presentation event at Leeds Arena – a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Leader of Calderdale Council, Cllr Tim Swift, said:

“By completing this survey it will help give Welcome to Yorkshire an idea of the amount of people that will be watching Stage 2 of the race.

“We know that Calderdale residents are very enthusiastic about the race coming to the borough. We were one of the top 10 authorities for the amount of applications for volunteering roles, so I know there’s a lot of interest in the race, and a lot of people will be planning their viewing arrangements for the big day.”
