Customer First on the move

Calderdale Council

The Customer First office in Sowerby Bridge is temporarily relocating while its current home at Carlton Mill is undergoing refurbishment.

During the work the Carlton Mill building will be closed, meaning Customer First will be moving to the library on Hollins Mill Lane from Monday 13 July.

Sowerby Bridge Customer First is currently open on Mondays and Fridays, but during the relocation, the opening hours will increase to three days a week, Monday, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 5pm.

Advisers will be on hand to help provide information and assistance with Council services such as benefits, Council Tax, waste, planning, housing and licensing. However, the payment kiosk currently at Carlton Mill will not be relocating. Usage of this kiosk has been low and space is limited at the library.

There will be excellent facilities for self service and advisers can help customers to do more things online. Plus we will provide information to customers on alternative payment options, including Direct Debit, online and telephone plus other Payzone and Post Office outlets for cash payments.

Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities, Cllr Steve Sweeney, said:

“We’re sorry for the inconvenience this closure may cause, but by providing an alternative location and extending our opening hours during the relocation period, we aim to continue to provide the high level of service local people expect from our Customer First offices.”

Many of the services provided by Customer First are also available online at www.calderdale.gov.uk/siteinfo/online-services/index.html where you can also speak to an adviser using the Live Chat function – an instant messaging service providing customers with support with online services.
