Cycle ride leaders wanted in Calderdale

British Cycling is on the hunt for keen cyclists in Calderdale to become Ride Leaders and help inspire more people to get on their bikes and start cycling for fun.

On Saturday 3 May British Cycling is running a free, assessed one-day course for local cyclists in Calderdale.

British Cycling welcomes all kinds of cyclists to become Ride Leaders – as long as you have heaps of enthusiasm and you’re happy to support beginner bike riders and families. There’s no need to be a cycling expert or competitive racer, just be confident riding in a group and have a good level of fitness.

In becoming a British Cycling Ride Leader you’ll be qualified to lead guided bike rides for groups of beginner and intermediate level adults and accompanied children on roads and cycle paths.

What: British Cycling Ride Leadership Award course

When: Saturday 3rd May 2014

Where: Ravenscliffe High School and Sports College, Skircoat Green, Halifax

Cost: FREE

After completing the leadership award, Ride Leaders will receive free kit and British Cycling Ride membership.

In return, we expect Ride Leaders to be flexible with their weekend availability and commit to leading guided rides on no less than four weekends from now until September 2014. All rides are delivered on set routes, at set times, specified by British Cycling, the majority of rides will take place on Sundays during the spring and summer months.
