Leader of Calderdale Council, Cllr Tim Swift said:
“Calderdale Council is committed to supporting our most disadvantaged children and young people and ensuring they do not go hungry at half term.
“We are working with the Community Foundation for Calderdale and our fantastic voluntary and community sector to ensure that children who are eligible receive the support they need.
“We have made £40,000 available and will be developing both a campaign and a longer-term plan to provide good quality food for our children.
“We will also co-ordinate and support the huge number of kind offers we have received from our local cafes and restaurants.
“Calderdale is a place of kindness and resilience and we will not stand by and let children go hungry.”
